I've been having a blast coding this website so far, by the way. Just wanted to say that. Anyway. Look at this!
Sssssssssssssssssssoooooooooooooooooo, I was on EBay about two weeks ago, right? So far, I've only used EBay to buy little Warhammer miniatures or kitbashing parts, but for a reason I cannot define, while searching, my mind drifted to Half-Life 1.
Like, just randomly. I searched up Half-Life 1 disks and found a bunch of surprisingly cheap copies for sale. I have HL1 and a decent bit of its expansion in my steam library already, but something about owning a physical copy of
one of the greatest shooter games of all time (from the 90s especially) just seems really cool to me for some reason. So, I bought the physical editions of Half-Life 1, Blue Shift, Opposing Force, and Counter Strike.
The Opposing Force disk had a scratch in it that the owner didn't know about when they made the listing, unfortunately, so I got refunded for that, but all of the other ones are set to arrive soon. I'm not that much of a Sourcehead, so I didn't know these
games were orignally handed out together, OR that Counter Strike was based on Half-Life. Still, though, this whole ordeal has me thinking about doing a deep-dive on Goldsrc. Maybe I'll order another copy of Opposing Force or
Team Fortress if these little knick-knacks don't satisfy my craving for weird little trinkets to put on my desk. Oh, yeah, speaking of which...
It didn't feel right to just leave them unprotected and scratching each other up, soooooooooooooooooo.
I bought some Jewel Cases to stuff them in! I've got about uhm... ten of them here, definitely more than I need, but hey!
They look great, and I think they will look even better once all three are in there.
Besides, who knows, maybe I'll pick this thing up as another neat little hobby I overspend on.
I saw some Doom 2 disks, as well as some full on floppy disks. We'll see. Anyway!
In other news, my journey world! (Click here to see what I'm talking about) I haven't gotten around to actually progressing the game yet, or properly fix up the dwarf's house, BUUUUUUUUUT.
A bunch of NPCs have been showing up in quick succession at my little house and some of them do not like it there and/or don't like sharing the space with others. So! I went ahead and made this little space for the Nurse out in the desert. I've read that she actually prefers
a HALLOWED desert, but this will do for now. It's also a good start for when the Arms Dealer moves in. Again, this feels like it has all the right parts, just not in the right places. I love the idea of a village chock full ofthese little sphere things out in the desert,
just picturing it in my head is a vibe. I think at the moment, all the design really suffers from is how sparse it is. Not sure if I should like change the wall below the platforms, or...? Maybe make that a separate floor? I dunno. Anyway, that's about all of the progress I
have made. Oh, and I bought a cat from the Zoologist. LOOK AT THE CAT!
Anyway. That's all. Not a whole lot to talk about in this entry, I've been too caught up with personal stuff and working on this website to do a whole lot. Although, I am thinking about making a log about Helldivers 2. Specifically the bot front, I really just want to dump everything
I know about fighting the cyborgs into one big wall of text, OR a video. I'm still not entirely sure what it is I do here on this site yet. Well, this is my second entry, of course I don't, but. Still. This isn't exactly a journal... but it kind of issssss? But I also just really want
to talk about certain stuffff? I dunno. Welp. This has been Hatteras1337, Entry number two 'Smorgsabord of Disjointed Stuff,' over.
